In our new instalment of Meet The Team, we get introduced to a team that has been competing in many facets of the Sim Racing scene for a number of years, and recently decided to find some solace in Gran Turismo 7.

We introduce the Sim Associated Motorsport team.

Sim Associated Motorsport (SAM), also known as SA Motorsport Racing Team, was born in 2019 from the shared passion of a dedicated group of sim racing enthusiasts. 

This dynamic team has rapidly carved out a niche in the competitive world of sim racing, showcasing their prowess across a variety of racing titles. Recently, SAM has made significant strides in the Gran Turismo 7 and Gran Turismo South Africa arenas, further solidifying their reputation.

From its humble beginnings, SAM has grown exponentially, now boasting a roster of 28 talented members. 

These drivers are not just names on a list; they are well-known figures in the sim racing community, celebrated for their exceptional skill, blistering speed, and unwavering consistency. The team’s distinctive Black, Blue, and Green vehicles have become iconic symbols on the virtual tracks, representing a blend of precision and power that few can match.

SAM’s presence is felt far and wide, with their drivers competing in various titles and consistently pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sim racing. Their journey is a testament to the power of teamwork, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. As they continue to dominate the sim racing landscape, SAM stands as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring racers everywhere. 🌟🏁

When asked for their advice to the next generation of aspiring drivers, SAM drivers shared the following insights:

1. Understand Your Setup: Familiarize yourself with car setup options and how they affect performance. Spend time adjusting settings to find what works best for you.
2. Consistent Driving: Dedicate time each week to practice. Focus on specific skills like braking points, cornering, and throttle control.
3. Track Familiarity: Learn the tracks you’ll be racing on. Spend time in practice modes to memorize key sections.
4. Review Your Races: Use replays to analyze your driving. Identify areas for improvement, such as corner exit speed or braking distances.
5. Stay Calm Under Pressure: Practice managing your emotions during races. Staying calm can help you make better decisions.
6. Stay Positive: A positive mindset can significantly impact performance. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn.
7. Enjoy the Ride: Remember that sim racing is meant to be enjoyable. Celebrate your progress and the time spent with fellow enthusiasts.

By focusing on these areas, aspiring drivers can develop their skills and enjoy the process of becoming better racers! 🏎️💨
