🚗🏁 How WILD were those CARDS?🚗🏁


 The Gran Turismo South Africa (GTSA) season is reaching its thrilling climax as the final races are being run. Last night, the GTSA Wild Card race took place, featuring the best seven drivers from both the Nations and Manufacturers leagues. 

These elite racers battled it out to determine the top five who would gain entry to the Showdown Finale next week.


Race 1 was a short sprint in the Mazda MX-5 Touring Car around the infamous Tsukuba circuit in Japan. With the added challenge of unpredictable weather, drivers had to navigate the track and traffic with style and grace. 

Those who qualified at the front had a clear advantage, while others fought fiercely in the mid-pack. In the end, SeriousSam_ZA emerged victorious, with D-man371D-man and CAV-R_Hollywood rounding off the podium in second and third place, respectively.



Race 2 saw drivers taking on Sardegna Track C in a choice of GR.4 monsters. 

This fast-paced and twisty track is a favorite on the GTSA calendar. Car choices played a crucial role, with the 4WD options, particularly the Lamborghini Huracan GT4, proving to be the best for the circuit. 

CAV-R_Hollywood made a clean break and took a dominant victory, followed by MGR_Le’kwera in second place, and SeriousSam_ZA in a hard-fought third, with the rest of the pack closely trailing his Bugatti Veyron.



Race 3 was the deciding race, with double points on offer. The drivers found themselves at the Autopolis Circuit, piloting the Dallara SF23 beasts, perfect for the tight and twisty track. 

The added element of inclement weather made this the longest and most challenging race of the night. 

There were thrills, spills, spins, and grass-cutting moments as drivers fought to get their machinery to the finish line. 

In an inspired performance, Mr_DNG took a well-deserved victory for the SAM Racing team, closely followed by SeriousSam_ZA, who secured three podiums in each race. 

Slagyster1 managed to keep his nose pointing in the right direction all race, securing third place despite immense pressure from the chasing pack.



Ultimately, only five drivers from the 14-driver grid made it through. As drivers wait in anticipation to know who made the cut, a provisional list of results was released on the Gran Turismo website, pending stewards’ reviews. 

Taking top honors after his three podiums was SeriousSam_ZA, followed by Mr_DNG, CAV-R_Hollywood, Supermanny, and Yasteel_Pace27.





Unfortunately, we may have to bid farewell to the following drivers, but we thank them for providing all the action on track during the season: D-Man371D-man, Slagyster1, RSA_Rusty22, MGR_Le’Kwera, PBR_Pumpkinpatch, SAM_JP_Lazer, SBR_Jacques44, C8s_Hennie, and Kennels_uG.



As the Wild Card race comes to an end, we look forward to the climactic finale of this Gran Turismo South Africa season. The top 15 finalists will battle it out one last time for bragging rights. Who will be crowned the Season 2 of 2024 Gran Turismo South Africa Champion?

  In a seeding session that will be etched in the memories of Gran Turismo South Africa enthusiasts forever, the Road to Glory has officially begun for the First Gran Turismo South Africa Season of 2025!
