πŸš—πŸ’¨ MEET THE TEAM - CAPE ADVANCED VEHICLES RACING πŸš—πŸ’¨

 In our Second
feature, It is our pleasure to introduce, Team Cape Advanced Vehicle Racing.

In 2023, a newly formed team emerged from the shadows of larger groups, breaking away to carve out their own identity. They initially rebranded themselves as the DRP team, but soon found themselves at a crossroads, unsure of their next move.

Just when things seemed uncertain, a beacon of hope appeared in the form of a sponsorship opportunity with Cape Advanced Vehicles.

Embracing this new partnership, the team underwent another transformation, rebranding themselves as the eSports Sim Racing division - CAV-Racing.

With renewed vigor and a clear direction, they set out to make their mark in the Sim Racing world.

CAV-Racing was born from the shared vision of Andrew van Niekerk (CAV-R_Hollywood) and Steven Hurley (CAV-R_Swev), who not only founded the team but also took on the roles of its dedicated admins.

Their dream was to create a team that excelled in both local and international Sim Racing competitions.

With a strong focus on teamwork and unity, the team members train together regularly, honing their strategies and coaching skills. This collective effort not only improved each driver’s individual abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.

Their weekly training sessions became more than just practice; they were opportunities for the drivers to bond. Laughter and jokes filled their calls, creating a lighthearted atmosphere that never detracted from their ultimate goal of becoming a top-tier team.

This unique bond ensures that they always make time for one another, never leaving a driver behind, and always pushing forward together.

CAV-Racing has shared many memorable moments that highlight their ability to perform at the highest level, both in the virtual world and real-life racing events.

Among the team members, CAV-R_Hollywood stands out with his BMW M3 E46 Track-Spec Race Car, competing fiercely in the Kuwait Racing Series.

Meanwhile, CAV-R_Fluffybutt brings his Tata Indica with a Honda F20C (S2000) Engine, Oval Spec Race Car to the South African Oval Racing scene, showcasing the team’s diverse talents.

Beyond their racing prowess, the team members bond over their shared passion for unique car builds. Each driver brings their own craftsmanship to the table, and they admire each other’s work, fostering a deep sense of respect and camaraderie.

One of the most exciting milestones for many members has been signing on as full-time drivers for CAV-Racing. This commitment not only solidifies their dedication to the team but also strengthens the unity and spirit that drives them to succeed.

As a newly formed team, CAV-Racing has set many ambitious goals and aspirations to guide their journey.

These objectives are crucial for providing a clear direction and purpose.

They aim to participate in both local and international competitions, focusing on driver development and team growth. This exposure not only helps them improve but also brings valuable recognition.

Supporting their sponsor by delivering desired results is another key priority.

The team is committed to being known for fair and clean racing, always pushing their limits and striving for excellence. This dedication to integrity and performance is at the heart of their Sim Racing careers, driving them to achieve greatness together.

For aspiring sim racers, CAV-Racing offers some invaluable advice:

- Find Your Tribe: Seek out a group of drivers who share your interests and with whom you can enjoy the thrill of the track. The camaraderie and shared passion will make the experience much more rewarding.

- Ask and Learn: Never be afraid to ask questions. Embrace advice from more experienced drivers; their insights can be incredibly valuable.

- Be Patient: Sim racing is a marathon, not a sprint. Patience is crucial, as progress takes time and dedication. It’s not for the short-sighted.

- Remember the Basics: And last but not least, always remember your brake markers. These fundamentals are key to mastering the art of sim racing.

With these tips, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a skilled and respected sim racer.
